Building energy usage and cost benchmarking is the review of an organization's energy operations to determine if a building's energy consumption is better or worse in comparison to itself historically, other buildings in the portfolio, and its peer group. By making energy consumption a cost benchmarking a practice, we:
- Identify poorly performing buildings;
- Establish a baseline for measuring improvement in energy consumption for all buildings;
- Enhance and create competition through comparison with like building’s energy usage; and
- Participate in green building certification programs and various other environmental initiatives.
